WHY IS LUNG CANCER SCREENING IMPORTANT?

  • Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States. However, if found early, the most common type of lung cancer is potentially curable .
  • The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends annual low dose screening CT scan for patients who are 50-80 years of age, have a 20 pack-year history of smoking, who are current smokers or have quit within past 15 years.

We at PACSA provide services in screening and diagnosing lung cancer, including performing appropriate imaging, biopsy of the necessary lesions using advanced technologies and follow up as indicated.

Critical Care Medicine

Critical Care Medicine is a sub specialty of Internal Medicine that diagnoses and treats the patients who are typically very sick due to various medical conditions . The critically ill patient is cared for by a multi- disciplinary team including physicians trained in critical care medicine (intensivists) as well as nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.

We at PACSA are proud to partner with Christus Santa Rosa Healthcare system to staff some of their hospitals with highly competent and qualified Critical Care Physicians for their ICUs in addition to providing in-patient pulmonary medicine services.
